Heritage Jr/Sr High School

Mr. Dommer brings a strong background in both athletics and education. A graduate of New Haven High School, he was a multi-sport athlete competing in football, basketball, wrestling, and track. He continued his athletic career at Ball State University, where he was a member of the track and field team specializing in the hammer, discus, and shot put.

Mr. Dommer spent 12 years teaching social studies at Leo Junior-Senior High School while also serving as Head Wrestling Coach, Head Girls Track Coach, and Assistant Football Coach. He later served as Athletic Director at Adams Central High School, followed by 3.5 years as Assistant Principal/Athletic Director at Garrett Middle School. Since January 2022, he has served as an Assistant Principal at New Haven High School.

Mr. Dommer is well connected to the Heritage community. He and his wife, Cortney Dommer, who serves as a special education teacher at Heritage, have three children, including a son who currently attends Heritage Jr./Sr. High School. In addition, his sister-in-law teaches at Heritage Elementary, and his niece and nephew are both students within the Heritage school system.
