AREA STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN FORT WAYNE ROTARY CLUB

WORLD AFFAIRS CONFERENCE

Area students will have an opportunity to broaden their understanding of global issues and engage in meaningful conversations during the Fort Wayne Rotary Club’s annual World Affairs Conference

The annual conference brings together area high school students for a unique educational experience designed to encourage greater awareness of world affairs, problem solving perspectives, leadership, sustainability and conflict resolution.

Throughout the conference, students engaged with local speakers who provided insight into global topics and encouraged participants to think critically about issues affecting communities around the world.

As part of the hands-on learning experience, students-built wind turbines while exploring how renewable energy can ultimately help conserve energy and support a more sustainable future. The activity allowed students to apply problem-solving, collaboration and critical-thinking skills while gaining a better understanding of renewable energy and its potential impact on communities around the world. They used the AI to assist with a marketing plan for their wind turbines.

Over 265 Allen County students were in attendance.
