Mia Troutner (on the left), a fourth-grade teacher at New Haven Intermediate School, just started her second-year teaching and said she has had to spend her own money to make sure her students have the supplies they need.
“I didn’t even know this was a thing until now. So, I’m like really, really grateful that I’m able to be a part of this,” Troutner said. “I love my students and I’m so excited for them to be able to kind of contribute to that. And I think as a class, we’re going to come together and figure out what we absolutely need and have them get some opinions on it,” Troutner said.
Ms. Troutner stated she will take her teaching team members with her to shop also.
