EAST ALLEN COUNTY SCHOOLS’ BOARD OF SCHOOL TRUSTEES SEEKS
APPLICANTS TO FILL BOARD VACANCY
[New Haven, IN] – The East Allen County Schools’ Board of School Trustees is seeking a qualified community member interested in serving on the Board to fill a soon-to-be vacant board seat.
The vacancy was created by the upcoming resignation of Mr. Steve Screeton, due to the relocation of the Screeton family. Mr. Screeton represents the New Haven attendance area, District 4E. In accordance with state law and board policy, the Board of School Trustees will interview and then appoint the qualified individual to serve for the balance of Steve Screeton’s term (December 31, 2028).
Community members who are passionate about public education and committed to serving students, families, staff, and the community are encouraged to apply.
To be eligible for consideration, applicants must:
Be at least 21 years of age;
Be a registered voter in the EACS Electoral District 4E;
Resided in the EACS Electoral District 4E for a minimum of one year prior to taking office on August 4, 2026;
Not employed by East Allen County Schools;
Does not hold another elected office as defined in the Indiana Constitution;
Has not been convicted of a felony, unless an exception applies under Indiana Code 3-8-1-5.
Interested candidates should submit the following:

Applications must be submitted no later than noon on July 13, 2026, and submitted to:
