The Career Center CNA students and staff will hosted the Teddy Bear Clinic for over 175 kindergartners from all over the district. The clinic was held at New Haven Primary School The kindergarteners were provided with white Dr. coats, stethoscopes, “glasses”, hair and shoe coverings, ID badges, “briefcases”, and a teddy bear/stuffed animal.
The goal was to make the kids more comfortable when they must go to the doctor themselves. They took their teddy bears to different stations to be bandaged, get a shot, take medicine, etc… so they can see that it’s not so scary. In their take-home “briefcases”, they were given toothbrushes/toothpaste, small packs of crayons, coloring pages, and all sorts of other goodies.
