Cedarville Elementary Exceeds Indiana's Proficiency Third Grade Reading Goal
Indiana has set an ambitious goal for 95% of third-grade students to achieve reading proficiency on the IREAD-3 assessment by 2027. As of August 2025, 87.3% of third graders passed the exam, with about 3,000 students (3.6%) repeating the grade, while over 450 schools hit the 95% target.
Cedarville Elementary was recently recognized by the State of Indiana for achieving and exceeding Indiana's Literacy goals of 95% of third grader reading proficiency, exceeding the goal with 98.5%!
