INTESOL – Indiana Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages has named East Allen County Schools’ own Emily Keirns, Director of Title III the 2025 Best of the Best.
INTESOL’s mission is to strengthen the effective teaching and learning of English as a Second Language in the State of Indiana while respecting individuals’ language and cultural backgrounds. INTESOL is a statewide professional association and supports and seeks to inspire those involved in English language teaching, teacher education, administration and management, curriculum and materials design, and research; provides leadership and direction through the dissemination and exchange of information and resources; encourages access to and standards for English language instruction, professional preparation, and employment.
Keirn’s local and statewide peers said, “Emily encompasses all the drive and passion of an excellent ELL educator. She is an educator who has made significant contributions as a PreK-12 ELL educator.”
Emily said, “It was quite an honor to be recognized by my peers from around the state. I cannot reiterate enough how grateful I am to be able to do this important work in East Allen County Schools. This is a truly special place, and I feel overwhelmingly fortunate to work alongside so many dedicated people to support our staff, students, and families”.
