SOUTHWICK ELEMENTARY PRE-K STUDENTS BRING STORYTIME TO LIFE DURING CONSTRUCTION SITE VISIT

Southwick Elementary Pre-K students took a special field trip to the construction site where the new Southwick Elementary School is being built. The PreK students got to see bulldozers, cranes, and dump trucks up close – just like the characters in their favorite bedtime story, Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site by Sherri Duskey Rinker.
Students wore hard hats and safety vests, as they explored the world of construction while being guided by friendly site workers and their teachers. Construction workers read the book together with the students. Students concluded the morning with a craft activity to build their own truck, demonstrating how to arrange shapes (rectangle +circles = trucks).

Each student left with a copy of the book, their built truck, hard hats and vests!
