East Allen County Schools Partners with New Haven Police Department to Enhance Safety with Gunpowder-Detecting K9
NEW HAVEN, IN – East Allen County Schools (EACS) is proud to announce another partnership with the New Haven Police Department (NHPD) to enhance school safety through the addition of a specially trained K9 unit. The new dog, trained to detect gunpowder and firearms, will assist both law enforcement and school officials in proactive security measures across the district.
“This partnership represents our shared commitment to keeping students and staff safe,” said EACS Superintendent Marilyn Hissong. “Having this highly trained K9 on hand allows us to take another step forward in preventing potential threats should they arise.”
The K9 will regularly visit school buildings and events throughout the District as part of routine safety procedures. EACS is so grateful for this opportunity to partner with the NHPD to welcome Millie, our newest K9.
