Congratulations to Ms. Rickesha Watkins, Elementary Teacher of the Year! Ms. Watkins is a 4th grade teacher at Prince Chapman Academy.
Ms. Watkins said, "I love the overall community connection EACS provides for its students and staff. It’s a great feeling to teach in a district where you have a sense of value and belonging. I have witnessed students face many difficult challenges before they walk through our doors. I teach my best for all students, but I try to make it extra special for those students. For them, being in class and learning from me, whether its academic or life skills, it may be the best part of their day. I believe each student has the ability to make a positive impact in the world. I teach because I want them to realize their potential and discover the leader within themselves. I love teaching in EACS because the people that I work with allow me the opportunity to grow and learn as an educator. Knowing that I am valued for who I am and what I can contribute to the students, colleagues, and community helps me pour into students and this profession as much as I do!"
