Officer of the Year Honored

Officer Adam Gebhart, of the Allen County Sheriff’s Department was honored at a EACS Board of School Trustees meeting for being named 'Police Officer of the Year' by the Sheriff's Department!  

The Sheriff wanted to make some changes to the annual Employee Appreciation Banquet. The Banquet Committee decided to have four peer voted awards, Police Officer of the Year, being one of them. The Sheriff’s Department has over 350 full-time employees, including Police Officers, Confinement Officers, Support Staff and Court Security. All of the employees were asked to submit a vote for an employee in each category. Officer Gebhart received the most votes for Police Officer of the Year.

  Officer Gebhart was sworn in as a Police Officer on August 8, 2017, giving him over 6 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Allen County. He transferred to Patrol in March of 2018 and he was selected as a K9 Handler on September 3, 2020. He was selected as an EACS SRO on August 17, 2022 serving on the Woodlan Campus.  He also was selected as a part time crime scene technician on April 10, 2023.
