The Board of School Trustees and Superintendent Hissong recently recognized Mr. Charles Ward. Mr. Ward was hired as a sub bus driver in December 2016 and became a permanent driver in May 2017. Charles was recognized for going above and beyond as the most versatile bus driver. Charles is always one of the first to volunteer to pick up an additional route to ensure students get to school and home. Upon completion of his route, he will go back out and pick up students for a route that was vacant for the morning or afternoon. Charles takes the time to learn his students each by name and when asked he can tell when a student got off the bus, which stop and the direction the student was headed. It sounds trivial but when a parent or school is looking for a student Charles will provide detailed information. Charles also is one of the most involved drivers, taking extra-curricular trips when available. Charles serves as the EAEA president giving of his time frequently to his fellow drivers. He also serves on the district steering committee for the Strategic Plan.
