Back in October 2018, nine Paul Harding Jr. High students worked outside of class time to prepare to audition for Three Rivers Honor Band. Their auditions were recorded and submitted to the honor band committee for review. Four PHJH students were selected out of entries from middle schools all across the state.

Dymond Fields, Nyla Sanders, Gloria Starks, and Sydney Villa, along with seventy-one other middle school students from over 20 middle schools attended an unforgettable musical experience on the Campus of Purdue University Fort Wayne. The students experienced extensive band rehearsals, a masterclass with PFW's nationally renown faculty, lunch at the campus union, and a performance from PFW's Wind Ensemble. The students performed a concert for the community on January 26th under the direction of their guest honor band conductor, Kathleen A. McGrady who serves as President of the Ohio Music Education Association.

Congratulations to Dymond, Nyla, Gloria, Sydney, Ms. Rachel Kesar, band director and Mrs. Danielle Newman, principal!
