Public Records Retention and Disposal

Records created in the general course of the business of East Allen County Schools are public documents and therefore must follow statutory guidelines for the retention and disposition of public records. 
East Allen County Schools follows the Records Retention schedule that is maintained by the Indiana Commission for Public Records.   Please reference Administrative Guideline 3560 for further information. 

The retention/disposition schedules for Indiana Public Schools are found in two different schedules: EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS RETENTION SCHEDULE and COUNTY/LOCAL GENERAL RECORDS RETENTION AND DISPOSITION SCHEDULE.  Always reference the Educational Institutions Retention Schedule first and if it is not listed then refer to the County/Local Retention Schedule.  Click the specific link below to access the appropriate Records Retention Schedule for EACS.
