NHHS Featured Event NHHS Students Win Money at JAG State Finals: Min Khant and Brenda Diaz

Two New Haven High School students won money to continue their education after high school at the 2012 Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) Career Development Conference, the final state competition that challenges participants to demonstrate employability skills. Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) is a state-based national non-profit organization dedicated to preventing dropouts among young people who are most at-risk.  In more than three decades of operation, JAG has helped nearly three-quarters of a million young Americans stay in school through graduation, pursue postsecondary education and secure quality entry-level jobs leading to career advancement opportunities.

The two students are:

  • Min Khant, a senior, won the Creative Solutions competition. He was awarded $1,500.
  • Brenda Diaz (pictured far left), a junior, received an honorable mention for JAG Indiana’s Outstanding Junior award. She received $1,000 to use for higher education.
