Rubber Band Powered Cars Designed by Woodlan High Students

Students in Mr. Brad McAlexander’s Physics class at Woodlan High School participated in the Physics Olympic Sport of Rubber Band Powered Cars on September 16. The students spent 3 weeks preparing and perfecting their cars for the competition.   more
The Big 'Egg' Drop at New Haven Middle

New Haven Middle School students learned about the Scientific Method, specifically how to design and test an experiment. The 8th grade science teachers wanted to give students an opportunity to interact with concepts that were being taught and apply them in an experiment. Students designed containers that would be able to keep an ‘egg’ from cracking from a 30 foot drop from the top of the building (containers dropped by Dr. Ken Folks, Superintendent).   more
Grandparents Galore at New Haven Intermediate

On Thursday, Sept. 12 and Friday, Sept. 13, New Haven Intermediate School hosted the annual Grandparents Day breakfast. There were 450 grandparents that attended the breakfast over the 2-day period.  more
Local UAW 2209 Buys Books for Boys

Representatives from the Local UAW 2209 General Motors Plant presented a check in the amount of $1000 to Prince Chapman Academy staff and students in support of the ‘Book Club for Boyz’ initiative. Prince Chapman Academy has approximately 291 boys enrolled from grades 3-6.  more
No Student Attendance - EACS System-Wide In-Service

On Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm, the East Allen County Schools Corporation will hold its annual system-wide in-service for all teachers and administrators. There will be no student attendance on this day. Classes will resume on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013.  more
