The Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) program is a school-to-career program implemented in 700 high schools, alternative schools, community colleges, and middle schools across the country. JAG’s mission is to keep young people in school through graduation and provide work-based learning experiences that will lead to career advancement opportunities or enrollment in a postsecondary institution that leads to a rewarding career.   more
Heritage Elementary Students 'Go Green'

The students in the Day Treatment Program at Heritage Elementary earned a fun day for exhibiting good behavior. This is part of the ‘Going Green’ incentive program for classrooms. Students are required to earn a percentage of green days, based on the 5 point scale in order to earn and participate in the fun day. Part of the fun day for the 3rd quarter was having ‘Indiana Wild’ come out and teach the students about different animals as well as letting them interact with the animals  more
The 'Blue Jay' Finds a Home at East Allen University

At the March 18th board meeting, the board voted unanimously to approve the Blue Jay mascot for East Allen University. Freshmen Landrie Jones, Isaiah Rivera, and Katie Watson were in attendance, along with Mr. Hicks, principal and Nichole Decker, teacher. The students gave a very detailed and stellar presentation to the board, explaining the significance and symbolism behind the choice of the mascot.   more

Paul Harding Junior High Students Bring 'A' Game for ISTEP+ Testing

Paul Harding Junior High School students and staff have been “under construction” as they recently prepared for the ISTEP+ testing. Students received three full days of intense “MINDS UNDER CONSTRUCTION DAYS” which helped them. They reviewed the necessary concepts on both math and language arts.  more

Heritage Winter Guard to Compete in State Finals

he Heritage Varsity Winter Guard has qualified for the IHSCGA State Finals in Indianapolis to be held on March 22. They earned the honor based on a high score earned at the IHSCGA Preliminary competition that was held on March 8th.   more

Woodlan Intermediate Students Geography Bee Champs

Recently, the 2014 National Geographic Geography Bee was held at Woodlan Intermediate School. There were seventeen students representing 4th - 6th grades, eight students advanced to the final round of competition and answered questions ranging from U.S capitals to world Geography.  more

Each participant receives a monthly calendar and is responsible for tracking two things: 1 - miles walked or ran, 2 -amount of time spent participating in the activities such as biking, elliptical, etc...   more
