EACS Board of School Trustees Present High School Diploma to United States Army Veteran

At a recent board meeting, the Board of School Trustees along with the Indiana Department of Education recognized, honored and presented Mr. Marion Rothgeb with his high school diploma. Mr. Rothgeb left Hoagland High in 1953 to join the United States Army and was unable to graduate.
EACS Fourth Graders 'Focus on Health'

Over a three day period, all EACS fourth graders participated in the annual Focus on Health program. Students had the opportunity to visit booths staffed by area medical facilities. Students had their weight, height, pulse, and blood pressure recorded.
Basketball Stand Out - Notre Dame Bound

On Wednesday, November 14, 2012 V.J. Beachem New Haven High basketball stand out signed a Letter of Intent to attend the University of Notre Dame next fall to play Men’s Basketball. “V.J. is a stellar student athlete and a great leader in our school” said Dave Myers, Athletic Director. V.J. is a member of student council, the principal’s advisory board, the student athletic council and a member of the basketball team. V.J. is ranked 44th in his class of 240.

Heritage FFA Win National Honors

Members of the Heritage FFA placed 1st in the National Horticulture contest. The members identified 100 plant samples from a list of over 1000 plants and seeds. They placed eight retail classes of plants, fruits and vegetables.
14th Edition of the Ironman Florida Includes EACS Staff Member

Mr. Pat McCann, School Improvement Specialist at Prince Chapman Academy recently participated in the Ironman Florida competition in Panama City Beach, Florida. The race included a two-loop swim, a flat, one-loop bicycle course and a two-loop run through the scenic St. Andrew’s State Park. Mr. McCann ranked very high in his division. There were over 3000 participants.
Heritage Football Squad Regional Bound

The Heritage football squad beat #1 Jimtown in sectional plays off on last Friday. They are now headed to the Regional playoffs. Regionals will be held in Marion this Friday, Nov. 9th. Heritage will compete against Mishawaka Marion beginning at 7:30 pm.
Lady Patriots Receive Academic Recognition

The Heritage Lady Patriots 2011-2012 soccer team earned a 3.710/4.0 grade point average the entire year! The overall team GPA was high enough for to win recognition through the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Beanie Babies Helping Southwick Students Learn Major Strategies

Recently, over 150 CAFÉ Beanie Babies arrived to Southwick Elementary. In this case, CAFÉ stands for a menu of strategies which can be used by students: Comprehension, Accuracy, Fluency, and Extended Vocabulary.
