Enjoy this video previewing the next phase of the 1:1 technology program in East Allen County Schools. To supplement textbooks, digital course resources have been compiled by teams of subject area teachers across the district for language arts, math, social studies, science, and world languages courses. Students will use these materials in the iTUNES University app on every iPad, and will continue to use My Big Campus to learn digital citizenship, online research, and file management skills.
East Allen County Schools Board of Trustees Honor 2013 Valedictorians & Salutatorians

The East Allen County Schools Board of School Trustees honored the 2013 Valedictorians and Salutatorians during an awards ceremony and reception on June 4. The room was filled with proud parents, EACS administrators and board members. Mr. Chris Baker, Board Vice President said, “The board members and all of East Allen are extremely proud of the 2013 Valedictorians and Salutatorians. We send you to the next chapter of your life educationally equipped to meet your life goals”.
EACS Board of School Trustees Honors 4 Star Schools

At a recent Board of School Trustees meeting, Cedarville and Leo Elementary Schools were recognized for receiving Four Star School status from the Indiana Department of Education. The Indiana Department of Education recognizes schools that perform in the upper 25th percentile of schools in performance on ISTEP+ and ECA state exams, as well as their rating determined by the national No Child Left Behind statute's Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). In addition to meeting these criteria, all Four Star Schools must meet the 95 percent student participation rate.
EACS Students Excited About First in Math Statewide Competition

Students from Kindergarten through eighth grade statewide have solved over 22 million math problems through the First in Math Online Program, a dynamic, self-paced, web-based mathematics practice program that has been proven to help students master math skills through the use of game-style activities that provide immediate feedback
Two East Allen County Schools Receive 'Four Star School' State Recognition

State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Glenda Ritz, recently announced Indiana’s Four Star School Awardees for the 2011-12 school year. The Four Star School Award will be awarded to Cedarville Elementary School and Leo Elementary School. Superintendent Ritz said, “We have set aggressive goals for students, teachers, parents and administrators at the Indiana Department of Education.
EACS Students Participate in Career Awareness Day

Recently, 46 student representatives from all EACS high schools participated in a Career Awareness Day, sponsored by Korte Does It All, Inc. Students were selected based on their career areas of interest, including HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Construction, and other related fields. Students from EACS Alternative, Heritage, Leo, New Haven, and Woodlan High Schools were in attendance.
Heritage Nursery/Landscape Floriculture Teams Place High at State Competition

Four members of the Heritage FFA team competed in the Nursery/Landscape career development event that was held at Central Nine Vocational Institute. During the event the members took a comprehensive written exam, identified plants and landscape equipment and also completed landscape estimates and addressed mock customer complaint situations.

Leo Jr/Sr High School Sends 3 Teams to Academic Superbowl State Finals

Three teams from the Leo Jr. Sr. High Academic Super Bowl team recently competed in the State finals at Purdue University. The Social Studies and Fine Arts teams placed first and received Gold medals. The English team placed 3rd and won a bronze medal in the Class Two Division. Statewide, there were six teams that advanced to the State competition.
