Nicole Winans, ninth grader at East Allen University, has placed in the top ten of the National Poetic Power essay contest. The contest was titled "Celebrating What Is Important to Me". Nicole’s essay was selected to be published in the anthology, which will come out this summer. As well as a top ten national recognition Nicole was also awarded a cash prize.  more
New Haven High Students State Bound in JAG Competition

At a recent Jobs for America’s Graduates competition, Chanel Love, junior placed 1st in the Public Speaking competition and Demetrius Carter, junior placed 2nd in the Employability competition. Both students will compete at the State JAG contest on April 19, 2013 in Indianapolis. Approximately nine New Haven High students participated in the competition. Mr. Glynn Hines is the JAG Specialist.  more
Fort Wayne Derby Girls Support EACS Character Count Program

On Saturday, Feb. 16 the Fort Wayne Derby Girls organization dedicated some of its proceeds to East Allen County Schools for the Character Count Program. The Derby Girls raised$200 through the 50/50 raffle and also added an additional $300 to bring the total amount to $500.  more
East Allen County Students To Participate in 'Voluntary' Alcohol, Tobacco, & Other Drug Survey

From February 11 through March 1, 2013 all EACS students in Grades 6-12 will be provided an opportunity to participate in a voluntary electronic survey that measures the use of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. The survey, which is conducted by the Indiana Prevention Resources Center (IPRC), is part of a statewide process to collect data.  more

Che'Teria Jackson, a senior at New Haven High School, was selected from over 175 seniors in the Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) program to represent Northeast Indiana Region 3 at the state competition on April 19, 2013.   more
New haven High School Academic Decathlon Team State Bound

The New Haven High School Academic Decathlon Team competed in the Homestead regional meet on January 19. The team won Regional’s and advanced to the state finals at Purdue University on Saturday, Feb. 9. They are coached by Troy Guenin and Sarah Rose.   more
Heritage FFA Competes in District III Small Engines Contest

The Heritage FFA competed in the District III Small Engines Career Development event at Lakeland High School held on January 29, 2013. The FFA had two members compete in the contest. Kevin Berning and Tyler Loe had to take a written test, identify tools and parts used on a small engine and then perform five various trouble shooting stations as well as fill out an engine specification sheet.   more

The Heritage FFA competed in the State Dairy Foods Career Development event at Purdue University held on January 26, 2013. The FFA had four teams in the contest. The team of Joseph Morman, Rachel Hammond, Amy Griebel and Sidney Mumma placed 5th overall in the contest.  more
