"CANDYLAND IS FOR SMARTIES" Pre-School Open House Filled with Family

On August 29th, the Early Childcare Special Education preschool program hosted “A Candyland Open House”. The hallways and classrooms were decorated with art projects based on the Candyland theme. Over 70 people came to visit the classrooms and meet with teachers. Visitors included siblings, parents, grandparents and great grandparents. “It was an exciting time for our pre-schoolers”, said Mary Young, Childcare Supervisor.  more

Indiana Honors New Haven High School Counseling Program

The Indiana Department of Education initially named New Haven High School as a recipient of the Indiana Gold Star School Counseling Award in 2009. Indiana schools to receive the Gold Star School Counseling Award had the option to renew three years after the initial receipt of the award.   more
Woodlan Jr. Sr. High Receives Gold Star School Counseling Award

The Indiana Department of Education has named Woodlan Jr. Sr. High School as one of 165 Indiana schools to receive the Indiana Gold Star School Counseling Award in 2012. “The school counselors and others at Woodlan Jr/Sr High School have worked hard to ensure that students have an accountable school counseling program that meets their academic, career and citizenship development needs,” Sue Reynolds, Executive Director of the Indiana Student Achievement Institute said.  more

It’s safe because My Big Campus is an online extension of the classroom that’s tightly integrated with our school network and Internet filter and was developed and designed specifically for educational purposes.  more
Heritage Jr/Sr High Receives Gold Star School Counseling Award

Heritage Jr. Sr. High School joins more than 164 Indiana elementary, middle and high schools that have received the Gold Star Award since its inception in 1997. Six years later, IDOE, in collaboration with the Indiana Student Achievement Institute, began offering professional development opportunities for schools interested in aligning their counseling program with the Gold Star model. Schools participate in a one-day workshop, followed by a series of monthly webcasts, to help them make the transformation to the Indiana Gold Star School Counseling model.   more
