Heritage Jr Sr High Student Lilly Endowment Recipient

Kristen Alexander, senior at Heritage Jr. Sr. High is the 2013 Lilly Endowment Scholarship recipient. Kristen will be using the full tuition scholarship to attend Huntington University. The scholarship will also pay Kristen’s required fees, and a stipend of $900 per year for required books and equipment for four consecutive years of undergraduate student leading to a baccalaureate degree.   more
New Haven High Students Win 'Canstruction' Contest

Recently, New Haven High School students participated in the Community Harvest Food Bank CANstruction event. The event was held at Glenbrook Square Mall. Their "Dynamic Duo" of Buzz Lightyear and Woody won the "Best Use of Labels" award. Keegan Holle also won a $1000 scholarship! Team members include: Captain-Daniel Romary, Keegan Holle, Braeden Holle, Quinten Holle, Christian Guandique, Jordan Holle, Cece Chapin, Kaitlyn Dunaway, Brooke Feipel, Michael Fox, Scott Fox, Kim Guise, Ryan Perkins, Haley Seidel, Haley Shuler, Kelly Workman. Meet Ms. Amanda Ricketts! She is the new Director of Human Resources for EACS. She is a life long resident of Indianapolis. She began her Human Resources career in 2000 in the private corrections industry and continued in a leadership role in the public/government sector beginning in 2005.   more
New Haven Middle School 'Career Day' A Huge Success

Recently, the 2nd Annual Career Day at New Haven Middle School was a huge success! All 8th grade students participated in the event. There were representatives from 26 different companies and organizations. The professional volunteers for the day included dentists, nurses, social workers, engineers, computer technicians, police officers, firefighters, military servicemen and attorneys.  more

Leo Elementary Students Place High in the 58th Annual Regional Science & Engineering Fair

Recently, the 58th Annual Northeastern Indiana Regional Science and Engineering Fair held on the campus of IPFW had 264 participants that represented 54 schools from an 8 county area. Among the major award winners were Devin Dillingham, third place Junior Chemistry and Purdue University School of Agriculture certificate. Lydia Lange, second place Junior Plant Sciences and Representative to the Hoosier Science and Engineering Fair. Both students represented Leo Elementary!  more
Prince Chapman Staff Compete in 'Biggest Loser Contest'

Recently, the staff of Prince Chapman Academy participated in the Biggest Loser Weight Loss Contest. The contest was part of their wellness plan for the year. There were 15 staff members that took the challenge! The contest ran from January 9 through March 27, 2013 (11 weeks). The winners were Cheri Commesser, the runner up was Ina Guenin and Mu Dah Laung was the third place winner! Eric Manor, EACS Wellness Coach visited the school weekly to weigh each participant.   more
Woodlan Winter Guard Present "We Can Do It"

Recently, the Woodlan Winter Guard presented their 2013 show “We Can Do It” to the student body and community. The show tells the story of the attack on Pearl Harbor and its aftermath from the point of view of women of that era. These women took on the role of factory workers personified by the image of Rosie the Riveter, an iconic symbol for women joining the work force as was necessary for the war effort. Throughout the show, guard members represented various women who had a loved one fighting overseas and the emotions she felt as she wrote letters to him.  more
