Demographics of East Allen County Schools
East Allen County Schools was formally organized in 1962 and is comprised of the eastern half of Allen County, which is composed of eleven (11) townships.  The school district encompasses approximately 344 square miles, which is the tenth (10th) largest in the State of Indiana.  EACS serves the eastern half of Allen County, including the communities of Grabill, Harlan, Hoagland, Leo-Cedarville, Monroeville, New Haven, Woodburn, and a southeastern section of the City of Fort Wayne.  There are currently about 9,360 students (kindergarten through 12th grade) that attend on a daily basis.  The school corporation is under the direction of a seven-member board elected by the people.  Presently EACS employs: 47 Administrators; 570 Certified; and 568 Non-Certified Staff.

East Allen County Schools recently had Dr. Jerry McKibben update enrollment projections, that indicated that EACS will continue to have a decline in enrollment.  A copy of the report can be viewed by <Clicking Here>.

Community members have often asked or questioned which attendance area with EACS pays the most in taxes to support our Schools?  EACS believes that it is critical to our success to view EACS as one district that tries to meet our student needs.  But with that said, a report was compiled to answer this question for the 2014-15 School Year.  To view the report, please <Click Here>.

Community members have asked what are the debts that EACS is currently paying off?  East Allen currently has seven (7) unique bonds that are being paid off.  The seven are:  1) General Obligation Bond; 2) Pension Debt; 3) Series 2011 Refunding (which was a refinancing of the 2000 Bond that paid for the construction of Prince Chapman Academy, renovations at Leo Jr./Sr. High School; and improvements at Park Hill Auditorium); 4) 2002 QZAB (Qualified Zone Academy Bond (air conditioning at Southwick and New Haven Intermediate); 5) Series 2005 Refunding (which was a refinancing of the 1997 Bond that paid for the construction of Cedarville and renovations at Woodlan Jr./Sr. High); 6) Series 2012A (construction of the Heritage K-12 Campus and refinancing of 2003 Bond which included the remodel of Heritage Jr./Sr. and A/C at New Haven Middle and New Haven Elementary); and 7) Woodlan K-12 Campus.  To view the current debt schedule, please <Click Here>.

Community members have asked what are some of the recent projects that have occurred at EACS schools?  A report has been compiled that lists the projects by building since calendar year 2007.  To view the report, please <Click Here>.
