New Haven High Students State Bound in JAG Competition

At a recent Jobs for America’s Graduates competition, Chanel Love, junior placed 1st in the Public Speaking competition and Demetrius Carter, junior placed 2nd in the Employability competition. Both students will compete at the State JAG contest on April 19, 2013 in Indianapolis. Approximately nine New Haven High students participated in the competition. Mr. Glynn Hines is the JAG Specialist.

Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG), is a program for high school juniors and seniors to help them stay focused and stay in school. JAG also helps students find entry-level jobs leading to a career and/or post secondary education. The program gives students credit towards graduation and also offers them the opportunity to expand their horizons through business contacts, unpaid & paid internships, guest speakers, mentors, and community service opportunities.
